If you have a desire to be married, what are you doing to prepare yourself to be a wife and mother?
Are you sitting at home waiting for your Prince Charming to come? Or are you doing the best you can to prepare yourself for the next season of life? It’s not about waiting, but about how you act while waiting that matters.
We need to be productive with our time, we need to develop the skills it takes to be a wife and mother.
For the past few months I have been more motivated to prepare for the next season of my life. Little things have happened that have encouraged me to be more persistent in being busy while waiting on Yahweh to bring my husband. The first thing was a video my friend made, the video really encouraged me that there are men out there who desire to get married, not just guys who just want to have fun and not to make a commitment. It also encouraged me to prepare myself for the man Yahweh has for me, and to be the young woman Yahweh has made me to be.
I would also recommend reading books to help prepare and keep yourself busy like:
1.Preparing to be His help-meet by Debi Pearl
2.No More Wasted Years by Olivia Brodock
3.Get Married by Candice Watters
So enough about me, let’s talk about husbands!
I encourage you to pray for your future husband, there are a lot of resources out there for praying for your future husband. I just started this a couple months ago and really enjoy praying for someone that will mean so much to me one day.
I am convinced that I am where Yahweh wants me right now. Whether I get married soon or later I want to be trusting in Yahweh for His timing, not trying to make things happen in my own time.
I have been learning so much and I encourage you to use your time wisely too.
Whether I’m learning more about relationships, guitar, photography, crocheting, sewing, health, cooking, babies and pregnancy. I hope to use whatever I learn to bring glory to Yahweh now and in the future.
Remember that no one is perfect, but don’t let that be an excuse to not continue learning, growing and changing.
The most important thing in this post is to know that you need Yahweh more than anything. Don’t spend all your time thinking who your husband will be or what he will look like, because Yahweh already knows.
I hope this post has encouraged you to prepare for the next season of life and to be content in the season Yahweh has you in right now.
Here are some verses to ponder…
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.” Psalm 37:23-24 (NASB)
“The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NASB)
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NASB)
Have a blessed and productive week,
Emily
