These goals that I am about to share with you are a conglomeration of lists I’ve made through the past 4 years but this particular list came together in August as a result of a Young Adults Retreat that I attended. Before the event they asked us to all prayerfully write out goals for our life and then challenged us to consistently check ourselves against that list from that point on. So, I challenge you to the same! Write your own Life Goals! Everyone’s will look different, yours will likely look much different than mine but I’m sure we will also have some similarities.
- Peel back the lies and misconceptions I have of who God is through study and teachings. Focus on His character. Using this knowledge I can better apply the next goal…
- Become a better representation/reflection of God to others Philippians 2:1-11
In the past I have made these things idols and expected my joy and fulfillment to come from them. Now I know the Yahweh is the only hope that cannot disappoint! However, these idols can creep back onto the throne of my heart. Not that any of these things are bad, but I must view them in their proper purpose and when I view them as my ‘hope’ then I have misplaced my hope and have guaranteed that I will not be joyful or fulfilled.
