This is a video our family put together. The goal is to help others (and ourselves) to memorize scripture. This past week-end our Family and two families from our fellowship went to United in Worship. United in Worship is a conference where people from all over the country come and are united through worship.
They have worship leaders come from all over the country. Here are the names of the Worship bands, Teshuva, Elisha, Ross, The Zion’s Sake band, Mishkanim, Mason Clover, Heather Porch, and Steve Manning. They were all great worship leaders. They had people leading dance during the worship. It is called Davidic Dance (This is a type of worshipful dancing.) “Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.” Psalm 149:3 (NASB) “Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.” Psalm 150:4 (NASB) It was a lot of fun getting to know other people and building stronger relationships with the people we already knew. Here is a list of my siblings favorite parts of the weekend: Naomi- She liked Teshuva and For Zion’s Sake band. Bethany- can't decide. But she enjoyed the dancing and singing. She especially liked Zion's Sake Band's "Come Rule Over Me" song and all Teshuva's new songs. Getting to hear Mishkanim was really great because she'd never heard of them before. Me (Emily)-I liked spending time with friends, dancing and I pretty much liked all the worship bands. Lydia- She liked getting to spend time with friends, getting to see old friends ones, getting to meet new ones, and listening to Teshuva, Ross and The Zion’s Sake Band. Sherman- He liked it all. Clayton- He liked spending time with friends and getting a shofar. I loved going and would recommend it to anyone wanting to go to a Worship Conference. I hope you have a great week! ------Emily------ I just wanted to share with you all some verses in the Bible about Praise and Worship and share some of my favorite Praise and Worship songs. l give thanks to Yahweh because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of Yahweh Most High. Psalm 7:17 Great is Yahweh and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. Psalm 145:3 Let everything that has breath praise Yahweh. Praise Yahweh. Psalm 150:6 Exalt Yahweh our God and worship at his holy mountain, for Yahweh our God is holy. Psalm 99:9 We want to give all our Praise and Worship to God alone. We should be giving glory to God with everything we say, watch, read and do. We should be bringing glory to God by obeying what he says to do in his word. The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Here are some of my favorite Praise and Worship songs I hope this encourages you to give Glory to God in whatever you do. Have a great week! Emily All of us are waiting- Whether we are waiting for a loved one to come to the Truth, waiting for test results to come back, or waiting for an exciting event to take place- everyone everywhere is waiting. While we wait our spirits should be still, resting in God’s will. Yet God provides plenty of things for us to do while we wait. I got the idea for this blog post because I am waiting right now for several things. Sometimes the waiting can seem like an eternity even though it’s only been a week! Keeping busy while I wait helps pass the time. For example; Un-packing from Sukkot, writing this blog post, and fixing meals- not to mention we’ve been up to our elbows in tomatoes all morning! In the song I posted you will hear the line “I will move ahead bold and confident, taking every step in obedience, while I’m waiting”. Waiting on God is not an excuse to do nothing. We should be moving forward and trusting all the while that YHWH knows His plan for us and He is in control. Waiting can be boring or fun, it all depends on what we do while we wait. Are you wasting your time on frivolous activities that lead nowhere or are you busy with productive activities that the Lord has for you today? -Bethany- ..............................................................................................................
This is one of the songs we sang with our congregation on Yom Terruah. Lydia and I like to sing it together. -Bethany Do you like music? Have you ever written a song? Do you like to sing? If you answered yes to any of the above... Then I encourage you to write your own songs. If you don’t know how then start by taking something right out of the Bible and making up a tune to it. Or take a tune you already know and make up new words. For example; take the tune of “Happy Birthday To You” (I picked "Happy Birthday To You" because I thought almost everyone would know it). Then you pick a topic you want to sing about. This song is about writing songs! This is my new song I sing all day long I’ll sing while I hop... Until Dad says to “stop”! The Bible says... "Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.” Psalm 149:1 “Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and lyre.” Psalm 149:3 “O Elohim, a new song I sing to You; On a harp of ten strings I sing praises to You,” Psalm 144:9 “Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.” Psalm 98:1 "Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. “ Isaiah 42:10 As you can see there is plenty of scripture that says to make a new song to YHWH. Making a new song to YHWH is one of my favorite ways to praise and worship Him. Do not try to make a song by yourself I found that it is hard to make a song sound good without the help of YHWH. I hope this encourages you to write your own song!
