There are many different ways to make Tzitziot and you can make them however you want.
You can make them to represent something just be sure it has at least one blue string :)
ruler
scissors
string
a chair
Cut the string, the color of your choice, 36" long. Cut as many strings as you want. I cut 4 green strings to represent the seasons Yahweh has created, 7 purple strings to represent the seven days of the week. 10 blue strings to represent the Ten Comandments.
Put the strings around a chair leg and tie a knot.
You can do it anyway you want; knot it, braid it, twist it, or just leave it as hanging strings. You can even do something as simple as a blue string by itself.
I braided it about 2 inches.
I took all of the green strings and wrapped them 4 times around the rest.
Then I tied a box knot to secure it.
Next I tied 20 box knots.
To finish you trim all your string except one (or two) blue ones (Tradition, not comanded).
Or just cut them all the same length.
Usually people wear 4 Tzitziot but some pepole just do 1 or 2 because they don't have corners on thier garments
Remember you can do it anyway you want- you don't have to follow mine :).
Shalom,
Lydia
